Border Service Station - Buronga NSW
In 1951 a young Ken Leake, after completing his trade as a motor mechanic in Melbourne decided to borrow the green grocers ute and, leave his home town of Werribee and travel to Mildura in search of greener pastures. Ken put down a deposit of 10 pounds on the border service station and went into business repairing cars and selling petrol.

Buronga Service Station
It wasn't long before tde business grew and was upgraded and name changed to Buronga Service Station. In 1953 Ken took up his first franchise in Freighter trailers and began to repair trucks. |

Leyland Tow Truck
Due to the remote location of Buronga in the early days, Ken found it crucial to have a tow truck on stand by. Pictured above is one of the many tow trucks the business has operated over the years a Layland fitted up with home made lifting gear. |

Buronga Truck Sales & Service
Two more sales franchises followed in 1955, those of Layland and MAN trucks, which were held until 1971 when the company now call Buronga Truck Sales & Service Pty Ltd (since 1968), was appointed Mercedes-Benz commercial sales and service dealers.

Kenworth truck franchise was taken up in 1976 and business continued to prosper. |

New Site at Benetook Avenue - Milduar Victoria
Before long the business had outgrown the Buronga premises. In 1981 the dealership relocated to Mildura and a new facility on 8 acres of land in Benetook Avenue where it is situated today.

Mildura Truck Centre
The company continued to grow and in 1992 was appointed Isuzu dealers. In 1995 the trading name changed to Mildura Truck Centre and during the following five years the premises received several refurbishments which include a modern parts department with show room, workshop extensions incorporating drive through service pits and new administration office complex.

Ken's Induction into the National
Transport Hall of Fame
1997 saw Quality Assurance endorsement attained to the standard AS9002.2001 was a milestone in the companies history with the 50th year of trading celebrated and ken being inducted into the National Transport Hall of Fame.
